Home School Community Liaison Coordinator (HSCL) News
Hi, my name is Annett Hendrick. I am the HSCL teacher (you might often see me in the yard in the mornings).
WHAT IS HSCL:
The Home School Coordinator Liaison scheme aims to improve educational outcomes for children by promoting partnership between home and school, parents/guardians and teachers.
WHY:
The purpose of this partnership is to enhance the students’ learning opportunities and to encourage full engagement with the school system.
WHAT DO I DO:
I provide assistance, support and guidance to parents and families of children in our school by dealing with their needs and concerns and assisting them to access the right supports within our community environment.
HOW DO I DO THIS:
I do this by networking with parents either in person, on the phone, text, whatsApp, skype, zoom and by email. HSCL encourages and supports parents in attaining their own educational goals. In St Joseph’s Infant School, we are delighted to run courses for parents (educational and recreational) and would love to hear from you if you have any ideas in this area. I also liaise with other agencies outside of the educational system on behalf of our families.
HOW TO CONTACT ME:
