Hi Boys and Girls,
As you all know our Green-Schools theme this year is ‘Global Citizenship Marine Environment’. This means that we all have the responsibility to save our marine environment (our oceans) from litter and pollution. Now you might ask, how can we protect our oceans from Charleville as we do not live near the sea? Well, did you know that litter in the ocean comes from rubbish bins, the streets, and landfills? Litter gets blown into sewers, rivers, or directly into the ocean. Litter travels through sewer pipes, into waterways, and finally into the ocean harming sea-creatures. We can prevent some of the litter on our streets from ending up in the ocean by coming together as a school community to all get involved in a two-minute street clean (#2minutestreetclean). Click on the link below to watch a video of Miss Murphy explaining and doing a demo on the two-minute street clean. Read the health and safety precautions below before engaging in a clean-up and MAKE SURE TO SNAP A PICTURE OF YOU OUT ON YOUR STREET CLEAN/THE RUBBISH YOU COLLECTED DURING YOUR STREET CLEAN AND SEND IT TO YOUR TEACHER VIA ALADDIN/SEESAW. https://drive.google.com/file/d/12Hiuq4Oo4u-Aoysbn29ZRi76h9dLVKBK/view?usp=sharing
Important Health and Safety precautions that must be adhered to when carrying out #2minutestreetclean

Parents, for more information about this initiative please click on the link below #2minutestreetclean – National Spring Clean
Thank you for taking part. By doing a #2minutestreetclean you’ll be part of a movement of people who are creating a BIG impact by doing a very small but significant thing. You’ll also see an instant result and feel good about yourself – so when you’re finished give yourself a pat on the back and don’t forget to send a picture to your class teacher.
Kind regards
M. Murphy
Green-Schools Co-ordinator.
