We had another action-packed day in school today. All the children played soccer, basketball, tennis and played a cone game. It was so much fun and the children had a ball.

Today we kicked off Active Schools Week by doing an obstacle course and a walkway challenge. The weather was beautiful and the children loved every minute of being outside.
Gymnastics in the sun!!
We had so much fun exploring running and jumping.
Today the boys and girls from junior infants, senior infants, and first-class completed our 4-week walking challenge. At the start of the challenge, we set out to walk to landmarks such as Doneraile Park, Thomond Park, Fota Wildlife Park, Blarney Castle, and Croke Park. Not only did we reach these targets we walked much further…
During lunchtime on Monday and Tuesday, First Class are showing junior and senior infants how to play different playground games. It is a great success and the kids love it.
Well done to Junior Infants who received their certificates for learning about water safety at the beach and in the pool. They designed some lovely posters to help the class be safe at the pool.
We are delighted that Matt Browne (Munster Rugby Development Officer) will be coming to our school every Wednesday for a couple of weeks. He will take Junior Infants for the first 3 weeks, then senior infants and finally finish up with first class. Junior Infants had so much fun today. They really enjoyed it.
We were delighted to launch our new “Active Walkway” on March 16th by having our St. Patrick’s Day Parade around the school. We have 15 posters up around the school so the children loved walking to each of them. It was a great day.
